Award-winning British performance-capture artist Andy Serkis is most famous for playing the paranoid, underground riddler Gollum in the Lord of the Rings movies. And so, naturally, The Late Show host, Stephen Colbert, asked him to read President Donald Trump’s tweets… as Gollum.
Immediately crouching into character, Serkis obliged. The extraordinary rendition comes around the 3:30 mark in the video below.
Serkis got into the Gollum spirit by abruptly jumping on his chair and adopting a high, quivering tone.
He first dusted off a June tweet that reads like a Greatest Hits of Trump-isms: “The Fake News Media has never been so wrong or so dirty. Purposely incorrect stories and phony sources to meet their agenda of hate. Sad!”
For the grand finale, he added a Tolkien twist to Trump’s infamous “covfefe” tweet, interjecting, “Wait, what’s covfefe, precious?”
Just look at how happy (noted LOTR-fanboy) Colbert is when Serkis says the word “diiirty”:
At the time of publishing this article, the Late Show’s video post of the Gollum performance had already been viewed 2.6M times.
I think this is too much they are using every ocasion to make fund of our president liberal media should leave Donald Trump alone!
