A recent CBS poll was conducted to find out if the public perceived the Mueller investigation as legitimate or politically motivated.
An earlier poll conducted by CBS in January showed that 50% of those polled believed the investigation was legitimate while 45% said it was politically motivated.
However, The most recent poll of 1,002 Americans also showed that 60% of Americans believed it is very likely or somewhat likely that Senior Trump advisers had improper dealings with Russia before Trump was sworn in as president.
But, when asked whether the Democratic Party should “move on” from the Russian collusion investigation, 58% of those polled thought the Democrats in Congress should move on to other issues and drop the Russian collusion concerns.

According to a new Rasmussen Survey, 61% of voters want House Democrats to drop their investigations into the matter of Russian collusion and move on, while 31% believe that Democrats in Congress should move forward with their own investigation regardless of the Mueller probe failing to prove any Russian collusion.
This compares to 64% and 29% respectively in a mid-February poll conducted by Rasmussen.
