7 Marines Killed In Deadly Motorcycle Crash

An absolutely heartbreaking story out of New Hampshire, where seven Marines from the Jarheads MC were killed by a pickup truck Friday night.

New Hampshire State Police said a 2016 Dodge 2500 pickup truck crashed into the riders on U.S. 2 in Randolph. When emergency crews arrived, the pickup truck was on fire and onlookers had rushed in to try and help the drivers who were thrown all over the road.

It’s tragic. It’s tragic for those involved, tragic for the families, so we’re doing our job, we’re doing our work and our thoughts are with the people who were adversely affected by this,” New Hampshire State Police Capt. Chris Vetter said, according to WMUR in Manchester, New Hampshire. “I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a crash with this much loss of life, so it’s a pretty significant accident.”

Witnesses described it as an absolutely “devastating” scene.

In addition to the seven dead, two additional people were rushed to the Androscoggin Valley Hospital and another was lifted to Main Medical.

Police aren’t releasing the names of the dead until families have been notified.

“It’s tragic,” New Hampshire State Police Capt. Chris Vetter told reporters during a late news conference. “It’s tragic for those involved, tragic for the families, so we’re doing our job, we’re doing our work, and our thoughts are with the people who were adversely affected by this.”

Large parts of the rural two-lane highway were closed overnight as investigators comb the scene for clues about what caused the crash.

When officials arrived on the scene, the truck had caught fire and the motorcycles were shattered into pieces. Witnesses told WMUR that they sprung from their vehicles to help comfort the motorcyclists before police were able to arrive. One witness said people described the scene with people frantically calling 911 as they realized what had happened.

“Everybody got out of their car and helped, got blankets and first-aid kits,” Miranda Thompson, of Manchester said. “Everyone went into action and just helped.”

Semper fi – RIP

(UPDATE)

Now a Go Fund Me page has been found where you can show your support for their families!

The Go Fund Me page states the following ( you can find a link to the Go Fund Me page below):

On June 21st 2019 Jarheads MC was riding to a charity event at the local American Legion in Gorham, New Hampshire Post #82. Our pack was struck by an oncoming vehicle and we lost 5 patch holders and 2 supporters, and many others are injured. Our club and the families are going to need help and we cannot do it alone. I am pleading with you all, please do what you can, and this money will go where it is needed to help ease some of the burden of these victims families. Jarheads MC has always been about helping veterans and their families and sadly, today we are in need of that same support.

Names and conditions of all will not be shared at this time as we are still being impacted by news as it arrives. We will be in New Hampshire the rest of the weekend supporting our friends and families.

*Jarheads Motorcycle Club is a club consisting of active duty or honorably discharged Marines and FMF Corpsmen. We ride and serve veterans and veteran families in our committees, with chapters in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine.
