In yet another glaring example of selective transparency, the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office is refusing to release critical details about the suspect behind Saturday’s mass stabbing at a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan. Despite 11 people being injured—six critically—Sheriff Michael Shea told reporters only that the attacker is a “Michigan resident,” dodging questions about the individual’s race and nationality.

Several online sleuths are pointing out that the sheriff’s office may be intentionally downplaying details to protect a politically correct narrative.
Let’s be clear—this was a brutal act of violence. Eleven innocent shoppers were slashed by a knife-wielding maniac, and yet the top priority from law enforcement appears to be shielding the suspect’s identity rather than keeping the public fully informed.
This is exactly why Americans have lost faith in the media and government institutions.
Instead of addressing possible motives or even identifying the attacker’s background, authorities praised “citizen involvement.” While the armed Good Samaritan deserves praise, so does the truth.
Why is the sheriff’s office hiding basic facts?
The American people deserve full transparency—not politically filtered statements designed to protect narratives.
