HUGE: Republicans Clinch Two Major Redistricting Victories Yesterday — Big Wins for the GOP

Republicans needed some good news on the redistricting front after a frustrating setback in South Carolina.

State Senate Republicans there sided with Democrats on a key cloture vote, killing the push for a new map and pushing the issue to the next session. It was a gut punch after months of work.

But yesterday delivered a significant victory in Tennessee.

A federal judge refused to block the state’s new congressional map, allowing it to stay in place for the upcoming midterm elections. This preserves Republican advantages in a state that has been trending strongly red.

And there was more good news.

In Missouri, the state Supreme Court ruled unanimously that the redrawn districts can remain in place. This ensures the new maps will be used for this year’s elections, another solid win for the GOP.

These rulings are part of a broader redistricting battle that has been heating up across the country. While Democrats have tried to gerrymander their way to more seats in places like Virginia (only to get struck down), Republicans are holding the line and even gaining ground in key states.

The picture isn’t perfect everywhere. Alabama is still asking the Supreme Court to weigh in after lower courts struck down a proposed map. Mississippi is holding off on redrawing until they have solid legal footing. In Georgia, Governor Brian Kemp has called a special session to redraw congressional and state legislative maps for the 2028 cycle.

Still, the momentum is clearly with the GOP. Democrats got wiped out in much of the South, and with the 2030 census on the horizon, these wins position Republicans well for the long term.

President Trump has been vocal about the importance of fair maps and fighting back against Democrat attempts to rig the system. His influence and the strong stance of Republican-led states are paying off.

These two victories yesterday are a reminder that the fight for fair elections is far from over — but when Republicans stay united and use the courts effectively, they win.

The red wave isn’t just coming in November. It’s already building in the map room.
