Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) just showed the world exactly how low some Democrats are willing to go in defense of a convicted killer.
In the wake of Karmelo Anthony’s conviction for stabbing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf to death at a Texas track meet, Crockett decided to weigh in with a series of comments that are as cruel as they are tone-deaf.
First, she claimed that Black women in America face more suffering than the Metcalf family ever could. Crockett said: “Black women live in agony every day that I promise the Metcalfs had never lived through.”

Let that sink in. A sitting member of Congress looked at a grieving family whose son was brutally murdered in cold blood and decided their pain didn’t measure up to some vague, collective “agony” she claims to represent. It’s not just insensitive — it’s disgusting.
Then Crockett took it a step further. She actually suggested the knife Anthony used to murder Metcalf “was not a deadly weapon.”
Video:
A knife that was plunged into a teenager’s chest, ending his life in front of his twin brother? Not deadly? That’s not a legal argument. That’s just offensive nonsense.
But the worst part came when Crockett essentially admitted she might have done the same thing. She suggested that, put in Anthony’s shoes, she too would have stabbed Austin Metcalf.
Video:
This isn’t just bad commentary. This is a U.S. Congresswoman publicly sympathizing with a murderer who brought a knife to a track meet and used it on an unarmed kid who simply asked him to leave a tent. Anthony was convicted after just three hours of jury deliberation. The evidence was overwhelming. Yet Crockett’s response is to downplay the weapon, dismiss the victim’s family’s pain, and float the idea that she might have stabbed the kid too.
This is the same party that lectures everyone else about “empathy” and “decency.” But when a Black teenager murders a White teenager, suddenly the victim’s family is told their suffering doesn’t count — and the killer gets the benefit of the doubt from elected officials.
Austin Metcalf’s family is living a nightmare no parent should ever have to endure. Karmelo Anthony will now face up to 99 years in prison for what he did. That’s justice. What Jasmine Crockett is doing is the exact opposite.
Her comments aren’t just crass. They’re a reminder of how far some on the left are willing to go to protect their narrative — even when it means spitting on a murdered teenager and his grieving family.
This kind of rhetoric doesn’t help anyone. It just reveals how broken and heartless parts of the Democratic Party have become.
