You know, one of the worst things about the previous owners of Twitter is the false sense of importance they gave so many people who really should have kinda sorta faded away years ago.
Elon Musk announced that the Twitter handles which post the real-time location of individuals and compromise their physical safety would be suspended.
In a tweet, the new Twitter owner said, “Any account doxxing real-time location info of anyone will be suspended, as it is a physical safety violation. This includes posting links to sites with real-time location info.”
Several woke accounts that decided to “test” the new rule were suspended.
Twitter suspended Aaron Rupar, Keith Olbermann as well as some reporters from liberal media outlets.
Despite the account suspensions, some of the journalists found they could still use Twitter spaces. Jack Sweeney, the college student behind the jet tracking account @ElonJet, was also in the Twitter Space, according to screenshots shared online.
According to a recording of the Space shared online, Musk said everyone was, “going to be treated the same.” He told the reporters their accounts were not special “just because you’re a journalist.”
“You dox, you get suspended. End of story,” he said.
After dropping this huge truth bomb he decided to leave them and let them think about it!
When the journalists tried to question him further on the suspension, he quickly exited the space. Notopoulos said the Space was abruptly cut off and no response.
Musk explained that people had posted his “exact real-time location, basically assassination coordinates, in (obvious) direct violation of Twitter terms of service.” He also observed that had the reverse been true, the Biden team would have melted down, “If anyone posted real-time locations & addresses of NYT reporters, FBI would be investigating, there’d be hearings on Capitol Hill & Biden would give speeches about end of democracy!” He’s probably right on target there.
However, Elon explained it wasn’t a permanent suspension but a 7-day suspension.
