IT’S OFFICIAL: Supreme Court Poised to Strike Down California’s “Election Month” and Late Mail-In Ballot Shenanigans (Video)

The Supreme Court could soon deliver a major blow to one of the most abused election systems in the country.

A case out of Mississippi is currently before the Court and a decision is expected by the end of the term in June. The case centers on how long states are allowed to count ballots after Election Day and what kind of grace periods they can give to late-arriving mail-in ballots.

If the Court rules that states cannot continue counting ballots well after Election Day, it would send shockwaves through states like California that have turned voting into an endless “election month” process with loose mail-in rules and extended deadlines.

California has made a habit of dragging out the vote count for weeks, allowing ballots to trickle in long after Election Day. This creates confusion, erodes public trust, and gives bad actors far too much time to manipulate the system. Other blue states have followed similar paths, turning what should be a one-day election into a drawn-out process that favors one side.

The Mississippi case could put an end to that nonsense nationwide. A ruling limiting post-Election Day counting would force states to clean up their acts and bring real deadlines back to the process.

This is exactly the kind of accountability the country needs. Americans are tired of watching votes magically appear days or weeks after the election. They want clear rules, firm deadlines, and elections that are decided on Election Day — not whenever the last ballot happens to show up.

President Trump and conservatives have been fighting for years to restore integrity to the voting process. A Supreme Court decision reining in these extended counting periods would be a huge step in the right direction.

We’ll know soon enough what the Court decides. But the fact that this case is even before them — and that a ruling could wipe out California-style “election month” shenanigans — is a very good sign.

The days of dragging out elections for weeks may finally be numbered.
