Bronx, NY – Oswaldo Ramos, a 50-year-old career criminal with 19 prior arrests, found himself on the receiving end of raw vigilante justice after allegedly attempting to rape a 70-year-old woman in broad daylight on April 18, 2025, near Creston Avenue and 184th Street in the Bronx. A video report by WNBC-TV, uploaded to YouTube and viewed over 500,000 times, captures the aftermath of what locals call “real accountability,” leaving Ramos hospitalized and conservatives on X, like @MAGAForce2024, praising the community’s response: “This is what happens when the system fails—Bronx residents stepped up!”
Surveillance footage released by the NYPD, cited in a Fox News report on April 23 [], shows Ramos fleeing the scene, struggling to pull up his pants after the assault near Fordham. The incident, which occurred around noon, sparked outrage in the tight-knit neighborhood, with word spreading quickly. By April 19, residents recognized Ramos from the footage and tracked him down near Tiebout Avenue and 187th Street, delivering a brutal beatdown before an anonymous tipster alerted police, saying, “You can find him in the hospital,” per WNBC []. Ramos was arrested at St. Barnabas Hospital, charged with attempted rape and burglary, per the NYPD [].
Locals showed no remorse. “Yeah, we beat him up,” one unidentified man told the New York Post on April 23 [], adding, “If he comes back, I’m going to rock him again.” Another resident echoed, “We don’t tolerate that kind of stuff around here.” Frustration with the justice system was palpable, with one woman telling WNBC, “Our government doesn’t really do much about it—they lock him up now and let him go later.” @PatriotPulse wrote on X, “Ramos deserved what he got—career criminal terrorizing the elderly? Bronx said enough!” Another user, @America1stMAGA, added, “When the system fails, people take justice into their own hands—good for them!”

Ramos, whose criminal history includes a 2018 arrest for robbing a Bronx deli while claiming he’d shot a cop, per WNBC [], remains in the hospital as of April 22, with the extent of his injuries unclear. Conservatives see this as a win for community justice, especially amid broader dissatisfaction with crime policies, like the 2024 Manhattan DA’s decision to reduce felony charges in 52% of cases, per The New York Post []. “This is real accountability—Bronx locals aren’t waiting for a broken system,” wrote @JusticeForAll22. The incident has conservatives rallying behind the vigilantes, viewing their actions as a stand against crime when the system fails to protect the vulnerable.
