Two Teens Charged In Shooting Death Of Man Who Asked Them For 50 Cents

The fatal shooting of a 20-year-old on Sharer Road this week started with an argument over 50 cents, according to arrest papers for two teens being charged with murder as adults.

Kennidi Jones and Tywaun Bivins were charged with second-degree murder and accessory after the fact. Bivins also faces an additional charge of delinquent possession of a firearm.

They are both 15, but are being charged as adults.

Both teens were ordered by a judge Friday to be held without bail. Bivins is being represented by the Second Judicial Circuit’s Public Defender’s Office while Jones will either hire a private attorney or be appointed one by the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel.

Jones was booked into the Leon County Detention Facility Thursday.

Bivins gave Tallahassee Police multiple versions of what happened, but he reportedly told police that Jones shot the victim.

When they told the man they didn’t have money for him, he said something that angered Jones, the Tallahassee Democrat reported.

He and Bivins discussed following Binder to confront him. Police say that Jones went into his apartment off Sharer Road and asked his sister for her gun.

They went back outside and trailed Binder then Jones punched him in the mouth, according to documents filed by the State Attorney’s Office asking that the suspects be charged as adults. When the man he began to move toward him, Jones fired.

Court documents say an autopsy report revealed that the victim was shot three times; once in the right thigh, once in the shoulder, and a fatal shot to the head.

“This gunshot wound to the head is consistent with the victim being in a bend over position and the suspect firing from above,” investigators wrote.

Another sad story of three lives has been destroyed!

These teenagers will never live a normal life after this!
