Washington, D.C. – In a heated exchange on CNN Thursday night, conservative commentator Scott Jennings dismantled the network’s latest narrative that MAGA voters are abandoning President Donald Trump over his tariff policies, leaving liberal panelists grasping for a response. The segment, which aired at 10:40 PM ET and was quickly shared on X by user @amuse, captured Jennings calling out what he described as a desperate Democrat spin amid their party’s record-low 21% approval rating. In just seconds, he exposed the disconnect between the left’s messaging and the reality on the ground.

The CNN panel, featuring a split-screen with Kamala Harris’ image and the headline “Kamala Harris Speaks Out: ‘I Won’t Say I Told You So’,” pushed the narrative that Trump’s reciprocal tariffs—set to take effect on April 2, 2025—have sparked widespread buyer’s remorse among his base. Democrats have been coordinating this messaging for weeks, claiming MAGA voters are furious with Trump for doing exactly what he promised: imposing tariffs to match those charged on U.S. goods by other nations. But Jennings wasn’t buying it. “This idea that Trump voters now wish they voted for Kamala Harris is pure Democrat fantasy,” he said, his voice cutting through the studio chatter. “Many who voted for Trump understand that the use of tariffs most likely results in short-term pain but eventually results in big-time gains. They’re patient.”

Jennings pointed to the White House’s own data, which shows $1.2 trillion in manufacturing investments in the U.S. since Trump took office on January 21, 2025—a direct result of his tariff policies. He also highlighted the sentiment among Trump supporters, noting that a recent X post by @amuse claimed, “The vast majority, if not everyone who voted for Donald Trump, is some level of happiness ranging from 9-10 on the happiness scale.” Replies to the post echoed this, with users like @WeirdGutFeeling asserting, “Me and all the Trump supporters I know are at 11/10.”

The CNN narrative crumbled further as Jennings addressed the real frustration among MAGA voters: not with Trump, but with Republicans in Congress. “MAGA voters appear to be behind President Trump, but they do have issues with Republicans in Congress who are doing nothing to advance his agenda,” he said, pointing to stalled efforts on mass deportations and tax cuts. X users like @Justin__NC agreed, writing, “I wanted more. More America first, 10x more deportations, the Epstein list made public, and by now we should have had dozens of high-profile arrests.”
