When federal ICE agents showed up at Arthu Sahakyan’s California home to detain his wife, many expected his support for President Trump to crumble.

It didn’t.

Even as his wife, Arpineh Masihi, was taken into custody over a 15-year-old theft conviction that led to her green card being revoked, Sahakyan stood firm—MAGA flag flying high outside their home in Diamond Bar.

“Even though my friends say take the flag down, you’re going through a lot… I’m like no. The flag stands,” he told FOX 11 Los Angeles.

Masihi, who came to the U.S. from Iran as a refugee when she was just three years old, has lived in America nearly her entire life. But under current federal immigration law, that old conviction made her deportable. When agents arrived, she went inside one last time to kiss her four children goodbye. “That was the last time we saw her,” Sahakyan said.

Still, he says he understands the bigger picture.

“Trump is not trying to do anything bad,” he explained. “We understand what he’s doing. He wants the best for the country.”

Even in the middle of personal heartbreak, Sahakyan echoed what many Americans are saying: strong national security matters—especially when it comes to nations like Iran.

“I’m very for the United States vetting Iranian nationals because of the sleeper cells,” he added. “Even though I miss [my wife] dearly… if they determine she’s not radical or tied to the crazies, let her out.”

Arpineh Masihi, speaking to FOX 11, said she’s now on a list to be transferred to another detention facility. Her future remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: her husband’s faith in President Trump hasn’t wavered—and his quiet strength is silencing critics across the board.
