The UN Is About to Institute a De Facto Tax on American Citizens: ‘The Ultimate in Taxation Without Representation’ – Globalists Strike Again!

Patriots, if there’s one thing that should have every freedom-loving American reaching for their pitchforks, it’s the United Nations’ brazen power grab to slap a global carbon tax on shipping that hits us right in the wallet—without a single shred of representation. The Wall Street Journal nailed it: this is “the ultimate in taxation without representation,” a move by the IMO (International Maritime Organization) to levy fees of $100 to $380 per metric ton of CO2 exceeding limits, starting in 2027 after formal adoption in late 2025. It’s the first time a UN body claims taxing power, funneling billions into a U.N.-controlled fund they manage themselves—$10 billion annually, per estimates, with 85% of global shipping emissions on the hook. Shipping’s 3% of world CO2 could balloon to 10% by mid-century, and this “Net-Zero Framework” is their excuse to rake in cash from American businesses and consumers.

The U.S., under President Trump, is fighting back hard—State Sec Marco Rubio, Energy Sec Doug Wright, and Transportation Sec Sean Duffy issued a joint statement rejecting it outright, threatening sanctions on nations voting yes at the October 2025 IMO meeting. “President Trump has made it clear that the United States will not accept any international environmental agreement that unduly or unfairly burdens the United States,” they warned, calling for allies to block this “unsanctioned global tax regime.” Trump’s right—the economic hit could spike shipping costs 10% or more, jacking up prices on everything from groceries to gadgets. And who pays? Us, the taxpayers footing the bill for globalist green fantasies while China and petrostates like Saudi Arabia drag their feet.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis nailed the historical parallel on X: “No taxation without representation… Being taxed by the UN would be far more offensive than the taxes imposed by Great Britain against the American colonies more than 250 years ago. Those taxes sparked the American Revolution. The UN should be defunded, not seeded with new tax revenue.”  Spot on—remember the Stamp Act of 1765? Brits taxed printed materials, sparking riots, tarring, and feathering that birthed our nation. The UN’s no better—haughty bureaucrats thinking they can tax us without consent, ignoring America’s coal, wood, and resolve for a good old-fashioned tar-and-feather party.

The globalists’ hypocrisy stinks: they push this while developing nations cry foul over costs, and the IMO’s “compromise” from April 2025’s talks—fuel standards plus the two-tiered tax—still punishes the West. Pacific islands and Caribbean states pushed hard, but petrostates like Russia and Brazil balked. Trump’s threats? Working—many fear tariffs and port levies. Under Biden-Harris, we’d have caved; now, with Rubio leading, we’re standing firm.

This is why we fight globalism—it’s un-American to let unelected UN hacks pick our pockets. Defund the UN, not our wallets!
