Twenty people have been killed and 26 injured in a mass shooting at a Walmart store in the Texas city of El Paso.
Governor Greg Abbott described it as “one of the most deadly days in the history of Texas”.
The tragic moment has passed, but for the one who lost their love ones will hurt forever.
A man who lost his wife in a mass shooting that killed nearly two dozen people in El Paso, Texas, last week is inviting the public to celebrate her life as he has no other family in town, a funeral home said Tuesday.
This is Antonio Basco.
His wife of 22 years, Margie, was murdered in El Paso.
Mr. Basco says he has no other family so he’s inviting anyone, who wants to come, to attend his wife’s services in El Paso:
Friday, August 16th
Perches Funeral Home Northeast 4946 Hondo Pass
5-9pm – The call went out today via CBS’s David Begnaud to invite people to the Friday funeral on August 16 from 5 to 9 pm.
Margie Reckard, 63, was married to Basco for 22 years before she was murdered. Her husband spoke about her to KFOX14 the Monday after the weekend of shootings that left a total of 31 dead in El Paso and Dayton.
“When I met her she was an angel and she still is,” said Basco. “I was supposed to be the strong one but I found out I’m the weak one, and she’s going to be missed a lot.”
Reckard and Basco were devoted to one another from the beginning and had hoped to live out their lives together.
“I just feel it and when we first met, that feeling came to each one of us, to each other, and we’ve been together ever since. We were gonna live together and die together that was our plan.”
We should spread out this news and at least give this man some happiness in his life.
