Two students from Lacey Twp. High School were given 5 days in-school suspension because they posted pictures of themselves on Facebook with/near GUNS! You read that right!
Lacey Township High School placed the pair on 5 days of detention for posting pictures of themselves taken at a RANGE onto social media that contained firearms with the caption of “fun day at the range”!
This file photo of two girls being supervised at an NJ Wildlife Management Area is for illustration purposes ONLY! Good thing they don’t live in Lacey, or they’d be suspended too! CNJFO member Anthony Muro created a firestorm by posting this story on “Lacey Township Chatter” approx. 13 hours ago. We will update when more becomes available.
Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs today demanded in a lawyer letter that the Lacey Township School District immediately rescind disciplinary actions taken against several students for posting social media photos of themselves near firearms at a target range.
“Both the actions were taken against the students and the Firearms Policy, are in blatant violation of the First and Second Amendments to the United States Constitution and the free speech protections of the New Jersey Constitution,” the letter states.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.
With guns, we are “citizens”. Without them, we are “subjects”.
Somewhere, every day in the USA, 2100+ people use a gun for self-defense, to stop a crime or save the lives of themselves or their family. Justice comes in many forms – sometimes it requires a strong resolve – other times a shotgun!
But to suspend these students for nothing is really stupid!
