Joe Biden’s Chances for a Presidential Bid in 2020 May Be Snuffed Out by the #MeToo Movement (Video)

Former Vice President Joe Biden may be throwing his hat into the ring to fight for the Democratic 2020 presidential nomination, but the #MeToo movement may snuff out his chances.

Biden has a well documented photographic history of ‘hugging and kissing’ female supporters and acquaintances.

While no one has actually accused Biden of inappropriate behavior, in the era of the #MeToo movement, numerous images and videos of Biden have turned progressives away from him.

In this day and age, a man simply holding a woman a few seconds after a handshake or putting your hand on her back for reassurance could be viewed as inappropriate sexual behavior by progressives.

“Biden is the wrong guy to bear the standard of any party purporting to speak for the victims of unaccountable power,” wrote HuffPost Washington Bureau Chief Amanda Terkel.

Biden has also faced criticism for his handling of the Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas confirmation in 1991 while he chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee.

At the time, Thomas was the subject of sexual harassment allegations from Anita Hill, an employee of Thomas’ at the Department of Education.

Joe Biden may not be an Al-Franken-level groper, and he’s certainly not a Harvey-Weinstein-level offender.

But his public displays of affection for women and girls during photo ops are widely viewed as creepy, in a touchy feely kind of way.

In the age of the #MeToo movement, in which even completely consensual contact between adults can be a career killer and cause for internet mobs, does Biden have a chance?
