The fire at Notre Dame began April 15, 2019, around 6:30 p.m. local time, which is around the time the cathedral closes to the public for the day. It quickly engulfed the building and sent huge billows of smoke shooting into the sky. An estimated 400 firefighters struggled to contain the flames, which raged for more than three hours.
We all thought that everything that was inside is either damaged or destroyed, but god works in mysterious ways!
An aerial shot of the historic cathedral showed widespread damage to the roof, however, a photo of the interior of the church revealed that a Cross was still intact and standing!
But it seems that one Muslim politician in Canada thinks that the fire itself is the miracle!
Québec Solidaire member Eve Torres suggested that the tragedy was “a result of a divine intervention related to the prohibition of religious symbols in France,”

The controversial comments of a former Solidaire candidate on the fire that ravaged the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris put Quebec Solidaire in trouble on Tuesday.
The co-spokesperson of Quebec Solidaire (QS), Manon Massé, took care to distance herself from the party’s candidate in Mont-Royal-Outremont in the last election, Eve Torres, who is of Muslim faith.
Ms. Massé asked the latter to retract, believing that her remarks would only exacerbate the debate around Bill 21 on religious symbols.
In a confused message posted and removed from her Facebook page, Ms. Torres, who has already been among the political analysts invited to the show La Joute on the TVA network, suggested that the fire in Paris Monday was the result of a divine intervention related to the prohibition of religious symbols in France.
According to Ms. Torres, banning religious signs can stir up the wrath of “the imaginary friend.” And then “here is the result!,” she wrote.
“If I were (Quebec Premier François) Legault, I would have firefighters sleep in the church on Notre-Dame Street” in Montreal, she continued.
“I was very troubled” by the words of Ms. Torres, said Ms. Massé on the air, adding that if it was a joke she was “very bad taste.”
This type of intervention only contributes to “ruining the debate”, according to Ms. Massé.
A former QS candidate, Ms. Torres was also a member of the Québec Solidaire coordinating committee until recently.
Ms. Torres finally apologized, saying that her message was a joke.
Immigration Minister Simon Jolin-Barrette, who is piloting Bill 21, also denounced Ms. Torres.
She now claims she has received threats and is playing the victim: “I acknowledged my mistake. Getting criticism, people being offended or angered, people expressing themselves, people criticizing, it’s understandable. Nobody in Quebec should fear for her safety or her life because she expresses an opinion, a different point of view.”
How ridiculous. It is highly doubtful she has received any threats, and she didn’t just offer an “opinion, a different point of view.” Her statements were hateful and vicious, and she is trying to shame people into fearing to criticize them.
