On Sunday pro-Trump independent journalist Nick Sortor was robbed of his $1,000 camera by an apparent Somali woman during a confrontation in the Cedar Riverside neighborhood. Video footage shows the masked woman ripping the camera from Sortor’s hand as he sat in his vehicle, prompting him to jump out and chase her to her car. His hand got caught in the door handle, and she dragged him down the street before speeding off. “A group of Somali thugs just ROBBED me of my $1,000 camera… They then DRAGGED ME DOWN THE STREET as my hand got trapped in their door handle. NOBODY bothered helping. DHS MUST RAID THIS PLACE!” Sortor posted on X.

Human Events obtained new footage from immediately before the theft, showing the escalating tension as Sortor questions locals about fake businesses. The woman snatches it right out, with a man shouting threats: “That’s what the f*ck you wanted, right? Man, listen, motherf*cker, you better get the f*ck up out of here. F*cking coward. Motherf*cker, you a coward b*tch.” Several leftists surrounded him and Cam Higby, phones out, berating and threatening them.

Sortor’s on the ground exposing the massive fraud—fake Somali companies billing millions for non-existent services, tied to money wiring and possibly Al-Shabaab funding. This robbery came after he was attacked last week by a mob rioting outside an ICE facility, where law enforcement deployed tear gas and pepper balls. The FBI responded quickly: “We’re on it,” they said on X after the video went viral.
But the PD response? Shocking. After the theft, Minneapolis Police told Sortor *he’s* the problem and *he* needs to leave. “INFURIATING: After Somali thugs commit FELONY ROBBERY against me, Minneapolis Police tell me *I’M* the problem and *I* need to leave. NO. REFUSING to arrest Somali thieves is EXACTLY WHY America is in this situation to begin with. I’m DOUBLING DOWN, and I WILL NOT LEAVE.”

This isn’t justice; it’s protection for criminals. Sortor’s bravery—chasing the thief despite the drag, facing the mob—highlights the danger journalists face exposing the truth. The Somali woman’s theft, the threats, and PD’s bias confirm the community’s complicity in shielding fraudsters. Walz and Frey’s sanctuary policies enable this—refusing arrests, blaming victims.
The FBI’s involvement is a win, but local PD’s failure is criminal. Trump’s crackdown must include raiding these enclaves, deporting the guilty. Sortor’s not backing down, and neither should we—demand accountability for the robbery and the cover-up.
