Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), the walking disaster who somehow still holds a seat in Congress, officially suspended his campaign for California governor late Sunday night after his once-promising bid completely imploded under a mountain of sexual misconduct and rape allegations.

But the hits just keep coming. This morning Swalwell woke up to **even worse news**: the Department of Homeland Security has confirmed to Fox News that he is now under criminal investigation for allegedly hiring a Brazilian national as a nanny who lacked work authorization in the U.S. USCIS gathered the details and referred the case to DHS for prosecution.
DHS didn’t mince words: “Federal law prohibits employers from knowingly hiring aliens who are not authorized to work in the United States. No employer, including a member of Congress, is above the law.”
Four women have come forward accusing the congressman of highly inappropriate behavior. A former staffer claims Swalwell raped her twice — once in 2019 and again in 2024 at a New York City charity event — with the Manhattan DA’s office now involved. The accusers aren’t anonymous; most are people he knew personally. Progressive influencers and outlets broke the story — not some “MAGA conspiracy” as Swalwell desperately tried to claim.
The collapse was total and swift. High-profile Democrats including Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi yanked their endorsements. Katie Porter and Tom Steyer publicly demanded he drop out **and** resign from Congress. Senior campaign staff bailed. Fundraising dried up. Even his own team turned on him.
Then this morning he become homeless, the lefty billionaire sugar daddy bailed too. Cloobeck told the press he’s done supporting Swalwell, wants his money back, and is now switching his party affiliation to libertarian because he “cannot stand this Democratic Party at all.”
**And don’t forget the hypocrisy.** Just last year Swalwell was on camera demanding the criminal justice system “throw the book” at people who commit violent or sexual crimes.

This is the same Eric Swalwell who got cozy with a Chinese Communist Party spy named Fang Fang, admitted to “mistakes in judgment” in a desperate damage-control video, and now can’t even run for governor without his own staff and biggest donors fleeing the scene.
The man who spent years lecturing everyone else about women, integrity, and the rule of law is now facing rape accusations, a criminal probe for hiring an illegal nanny, and total political exile — all while still clinging to his congressional seat.
Will he resign from Congress? That’s the next shoe to drop. But one thing is crystal clear: Swalwell’s political career is over. The loudest attack dog on the left just got devoured by his own scandals.
