Breaking: Dorian Is Now A Category 5 Storm

Officials said that Dorian could become a Category 4 hurricane by the time it reaches the Florida coast, and it was likely to land in Melbourne, Fla. — about 115 miles north of Trump’s Palm Beach resort, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

but it seems that the storm is much bigger than predicted.

The huricane has strengthened to a dangerous category 5 storm as it continues on its path toward the Bahamas, the National Hurricane Center said in their 8 a.m. update.

Dorian’s winds have increased to 160 mph in the western Atlantic Ocean, and is moving west at 8 mph. The NHC says the storm should be moving over Great Abaco soon, and continue near or over Grand Bahama Island Sunday through Monday.

A tropical storm warning is in effect for parts of Florida’s east coast, from Deerfield Beach to the Sebastian Inlet. Dorian is expected to move closer to the coast late Monday through Tuesday.

Dorian is an “extremely dangerous” hurricane according to Fox News Senior Meteorologist Janice Dean, who said the storm is set to deliver a “devastating blow” to the northwest Bahamas Sunday through Monday.

“A perfect beast of a storm,” Dean said Sunday morning on “Fox & Friends,” adding that the northwestern Bahamas have never had a direct impact of a Category 5 storm before.

“This is not a storm not to be messed with,” Dean added.
