PARTS of Disneyland Paris was evacuated or put in lockdown.
Witnesses reported panicked evacuations of shops and restaurants, with some reporting a loud bang or bangs. Some buildings were evacuated while others put on lockdown. Video footage shared on Twitter shows panicked guests running.
Starbucks customers at the park were evacuated via the backstage area of the Wild West Show when the incident began.
Others were told to shelter in place as armed police arrived.
Initially, guests reported hearing “shots” and “detonations”. It later emerged the noises were due to an escalator loudly malfunctioning.
“Doors locked and armed police have just come inside.
“All we know at the moment is a controlled explosion has been carried out.”
Another said: “It wasn’t the right day to go to Disney village. Confined to a restaurant, military, and cops everywhere.
